Final Details for the Heart For the Holidays Party Tonight

December 4th, 2009

Hey everyone!
Thank you SO much for buying tickets, supporting #GenYTO and especially helping us raise awareness and moola for Heart House Hospice. You are all doing an amazing thing by being part of this and helping give a better holiday to a lot of folks who really need it.
Remember, this is the last holiday some people have with their mom or dad, sister or brother, boyfriend or girlfriend. By donating to Heart House Hospice (http://heartfortheholidays.com/donate), you are giving terminally ill folks the opportunity to tell and show their families how much they love them — and it might be their last chance to do so.
Super awesome notes about tonight:
The party starts tonight at 8 p.m. You don’t need to print your tickets, but make sure you have ID on you so we can check you off the guest list all proper and such. We adore y’all anyway and CLEARLY know who you all are, but bring ID just in case ; )
We have some super sweet things lined up for you including Candy Grams to send to that handsome boy or pretty girl you’ve been wanting to tell how you feel and awesome raffle prizes like a Cake Beauty gift set, a Cake or Death gift certificate, Givenchy Fragrance gift sets and more!
Along with the Marben mixologists, we’ve concocted a delicious cutesy shooter called Santa’s Littler Helper to help you get feelin’ good real fast. $1 from all sales of this puppy goes to Heart House, so let’s get SPRING BREAK! up in herre!
Also, make sure you look your purdiest ’cause we’ll have a booth set up to shoot your mug and accepting donations for Heart House Hospice.
Please visit http://heartfortheholidays.com to learn more about the cause. And while you’re there, check out the AMAZING videos about Heart House Hospice and #Heart4Holidays by Rosa Park (http://whitelionessmedia.com) and Valerie Solway (http://vivaval.com).
Don’t be afraid to tell everyone you know about Heart for the Holidays and encourage folks to donate. We still have a ways to go before hitting our target!
Hit “Reply” if you have any questions. Can’t wait to see everybody tonight!
Love,
The #GenYTO and #Heart4Holidays team

Make This Holiday Season A Cherished One

The holiday season is a special time for all families. Irrespective of religious orientation or beliefs, it is a time where we all slow down to focus on those that are special to us.

However, the sparkle of the holiday season can be stifled by a family member’s battle against terminal illness. When a family faces a terminal illness head-on, the emotional, physical and financial turmoil can sap the happiness out of what might be the last holiday season they share together. Those last days can be forgotten and stolen from the family.

What can we do to make that last holiday a cherished one?

What if this was the last holiday you were to share with your family?

To do our part, we want to reach out to those families and raise $20,000 to give them the support and means to enjoy what might be their last holiday together.

Here are three ways you can get involved

This December, give a Heart for the Holidays and make this a cherished one for all.

We would like to thank our corporate sponsors Freshbooks, Xcino, Orange Rhino Media and You Say Yeah for their generous donations.

A special thanks is also due to our partners and promoters that have helped us put the event together and make it all happen behind the scenes including Wes Bos, Josephine Ng, Rayanne Langdon of Freshbooks, Erin Bury of Sprouter, Satish Kanwar of Jet Cooper, Dave Coleman of Spreed Inc.,Melissa Smich of myhosting.com, Casie Stewart, ElectroTO, Impact.org and Justin Kozuch of Refresh Events.
